  • Prof. Ulrich Woitek (Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics)

After visiting professorship has ended Yes, provided that they start supervising the thesis before the visiting professorship has ended and that the thesis is co-supervised by someone who is a full or associate professor, an assistant professor with or without tenure track, or an externally funded professor or associated professor, and the expert report is signed by this person

Emeritus Yes, provided they take on the thesis project before professorial retirement and it can be completed within five years of their retirement. The doctoral candidate must be enrolled at the latest in the last semester before the professor's retirement
After moving to another university Yes, but only with the approval of the Vice Dean of Studies, and only as an external supervisor (may not chair the Doctoral Commission)

Important Notice for Doctoral Candidates under the Regulations for Obtaining the Doctoral Degree of 29 May 2006 (PO 2006)

By way of an interim solution, students who are completing their doctorate under the Regulations for Obtaining the Doctoral Degree of 29 May 2006 (PO 2006) have the option of retaining the thesis supervisors already planned provided that at least one supervisor is a professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (§7 PO 2006).
