Doctoral students can apply for subsidies to cover the costs of copy editing and translation of texts that are not written in their native language and are crucial for their dissertation projects.

Conditions

Eligible applicants are doctoral students enrolled at PhF (including those on leave during the publication phase). In 2024, a subsidy of up to 2000 CHF per person can be requested. Multiple applications can be submitted until the maximum sum is reached. There is no entitlement to full reimbursement of requested costs. Amounts below 100 CHF will not be paid out. Budgetary constraints apply.

Application

Applications must be fully submitted at the earliest three and at the latest one month before the service to the following email address: rechnungswesen@phil.uzh.ch.

For a complete application, please compile the following documents into a single PDF file and send it as an attachment via email. The file size should not exceed 50 MB:

  1. Copy Editing and Translation Application Form (DOCX, 63 KB)
  2. Quote for Copy Editing/Translation Services
Please note: The quote must indicate that the provider of the subsidized service can pay the legally required taxes and fees (e.g., providing a UID for Switzerland and the EU or a TIN for the USA).

Incomplete or late submissions will be returned without processing. The Dean's Office will not correspond regarding the payout. Payments are typically made to your account within two months after receiving the application.
